Extra-curricular activities

 

In each academic year the following extra-curricular activities are scheduled:

 

 

Visit to the collection of Japanese antiquarian materials at the British Library

This visit is let by the Head of Japanese Section Asian and African Studies, Mr Hamish Todd. An explanation about the  collection, its contents and its features is followed by a viewing session which allows you to touch and examine some the treasures of this collection.

Get to know the collection of Japanese antiquarian material kept at the Cambridge University Library through a half-day study seminar in the Aoi Seminar Room.

Weekly meetings for the reading of calligraphy

This is an extra-curricular activity that will allow you to familiarize yourself with the script used in manuscripts and printed books in pre-Meiji Japan.
